Here’s how I REALLY fixed them, and it has nothing to do with your hamstrings. Most of the time tension and strain related injuries are a result of a lack of function SOMEWHERE ELSE. . Let me explain... . When your glutes aren’t engaging the way that they’re designed, for hip extension, the hamstrings take over for the glutes WHILE trying to do their own job as well. . The primary role of the hamstrings is to flex the knee...their secondary role is to extend the hip and...they suck at it. . Most of the time, it’s not as much of a weakness in the glutes as it is a muscle firing order issue. Once the hamstrings are programmed as the primary hip extensor, they’ll become the default every time unless you force your nervous system to reset. . One of the easiest ways to change it is through deliberate movements. The goal is to force recruitment, not growth. . 1️⃣ Single Leg Glute Bridge: 2 x 5 2️⃣ Single Leg Glute Bridge with LAX: 2 x 5 3️⃣ Curtsy Squat: 3 x 5 4️⃣ Frog Bump: 3 x 10 5️⃣ Ninja Kick: 2 x 5 6️⃣ Tempo Banded Hip Hinge: 2 x 10 .
